If you are having problems with the sound, you can try the following.


SOUND FIX:

1. Install the Game
2. Open up WMFDIST.EXE (in the REDIST folder on the cd) with WinRAR or
similar
3. Extract l3codeca.acm from the archive
4. Copy l3codeca.exe into the same folder as the freelancer executable.
5. Play the game!
Note: If it doesnt work yet, try copying the acm file into the other folders
in the Freelancer game folder. It worked in the EXE folder on my machine,
but in the DLL folder on my flatmates - just experiment.

This way Freelancer finds the l3codeca.acm in the game folder before the one
in your windows folder, and uses the correct one - no need to uninstall
anything! This is very similar to the NOLF2 fix, a game which had the same
problem.
